*** I Am Grateful ***

I'll bet some of you have wondered, "Where is she? Has she died?" Or maybe no one even noticed I haven't posted for a couple days. Well, read on and I'll tell you about it.

I just looked back and see the last Gratitude List I wrote was on Friday. Well, I know on Saturday I wrote the Wordzlle Challenge and I seem to remember visiting some of the other blogs to read their Wordzlles. Beyond that I'm afraid I don't really remember just now exactly what I did that day, though it seems I was busy doing something. Oh... one thing, a man showed up here asking if I'd like to sell some of my rabbit cages that I've had stacked up in my front yard for some time now. I said "sure". He raises several species of birds, and it ended up with him taking about a half dozen cages in exchange for a pair of young, about 6 months old, Peach Face Lovebirds. He wanted the cages for his granddaughter who raises fancy pigeons and needs cages for some of them. He had to talk to her before he actually made the deal, so took my phone number and called that night while I was out (and now I remember what I did). He actually came for the cages and brought the birds to me on Sunday morning.

Saturday my friend PatZ picked me up and we drove to the town where my Mom lives as our friend Carole also lives there. Carole was putting on an EFT demo which I really wanted to see as I've heard/read about EFT and wanted to know more. PatZ already does some of it herself. It was a fabulous demo. I got up as a volunteer to have something done and chose to use wanting to loose weight. Carole did it in such a way as to lessen my cravings for sweets, then to rid my cravings for Coke. Someone got a nice, ice cold can of Coke from the fridge and put it into my hands. Carole asked me to rate my desire on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being want it most. I said about 5. We did some more EFT work and I actually was honestly able to say "I don't even want it" and set the can down. There are people that knew me who would likely not believe what I just told you... at one time I drank 6 litres or more of Coke every day!!! I had cut it down to at most 2 litres a week and likely less, then since late January, I've not drank any, though continued to still think I wanted it. I wish I'd done this EFT work sooner. Also, someone put a chocolate bar in my hand, and I really didn't even have a desire for it.

After the demo, we went to Mom's for tea. My brother Bernie was down from northern Alberta and though usually out with friends, he was at Mom's when we were there. Mom, Bernie, sister Marcy her husband Randy, their daughter Shannon, husband Brad, kids Carter & Kennedy were all going out for Chinese, so Bernie suggested I stay and go out with them. I pointed out I didn't have my truck, and he said he'd drive me home later, so I stayed. After dinner we all went to M&R's place for the evening, then B & Mom drove me home around 10pm. He had to ask where I live and how to get here.... I've only lived here in this house for 18 1/2 years. He was, years ago, in my driveway when he drove Dad here to pick me up one time. Dad's been gone 10 years now, and it was quite some time before that when this happened. That's the only time B has been here. Sister Anne has also been in the driveway many years ago, likely around that same time as I only was without a vehicle on the road for a short time one year. Marcy has been inside the house, though not since shortly after I moved in, and she's picked me up here a few times when she & Mom came to town, or the time we all went to the Coast and on an Alaska cruise. Terry has been here, back in '97 when I hired his company to do renos on my home, and build an addition. Don't remember if he's even been here other than that and one time dropping off a deepfreeze for me that turned out not to work. That's how 'close' we are... though they all visit each other. It used to bother me, and doesn't any more. Anyway... by the time I got home and fed the animals I was too tired to blog.

Sunday I was up early to go to the Centre for Spiritual Living, after Al came for the cages and dropped of the Lovebirds. I was presiding over the service, something I always love doing. After that, I went to the Dog Park to walk Reba, then back down town to Phyllis's home for dinner with her, Jan & PatZ. While there, Carol G called and said she was at my place. Her & her daughter went to do other things while I finished my dinner & visit, then when I came home Carol came back and we had a really nice visit. By the time she left I was almost falling asleep, and it was only around 11pm. The last while I've actually been tired at around that time, which is most unusual for me, though likely a good thing.

EFT?

Hi Quilly. I just put some links in to the EFT website so you can go check it out... it's Emotional Freedom Technique. Very effective for many people. Carole has gotten free of her allergies, her friend Gerhardt from his gout. They sure swear by this now.

Alice I did notice and am glad it's back. I just thought you were taking a some time of to recharge. I think it's great you got rid of some of the cages in exchange for the love birds. How bout naming them Gayle and Lizzy...LOL. Glad you got to see our family and what I'm very happy for is you are use to the situation and just let it be. Chinese is one of my favorites...mmm mmm good :)
