I Am Grateful

I stayed up half the night to be first to see the Punny Monday challenge at Quilly's. I think I figured it out, and will see tomorrow... well, errrr, later today. I thought... ahhhh, now I can go to bed. Then remembered I hadn't done my gratitudes yet.

Today I went to the Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Living, as I do most Sunday mornings. It's my Spiritual Centre, and really my second home. Today was Rev. Sheila's Installation as a staff minister, so was a special day. I read a selection out of the Book of the Month... How To Be Healthy, Wealthy, Happy by Raymond Charles Barker (great book), then during the installation I read our Declaration of Principles. I also took lots of photos of the entire service.

After the service, was a social time where people ate cake and cookies while visiting. Always a nice time.

That was followed by a workshop I wanted to take part in, so did. It's How To Attract Your Soul Mate, based on a book by Barbara Gulbranson. Rev. Dale said it would be about 3 hours, it started at 1:30, so I figured 4:30 or 5:00 if we went over time. Nope... we didn't get out of there until about 6:00pm. It was a great workshop that the time flew by. We barely got it finished at that... and we have homework. (of course, if we want it to work we have to work it).

From there I went to Shannon's. On Friday I went over to her place and picked up 2 new budgie birds. Ellen and her baby Chirp. (I decided to call it Chirp because it's too young to be sure if it's male or female, so that's a unisex name.) They will be good company for Tomas. I will take some photos of them once they've settled in a bit more, and will post them here. At that time, Shannon and I talked about me taking Paco, her male Ringneck Parrot. He hasn't bonded with her female, Greeny, so Shannon was going to think about giving him to me to see if he bonds with DW. She emailed me today while I was in the workshop (good thing I take my laptop to things like that, to take notes, and we have wireless at the Centre) and said I can have him. Or at least, for a while. If Paco & DW like each other he can stay here and see if they mate and make babies. If they don't get along he goes back to Shannon's place in a couple weeks once they've had some time to get to know each other. If they do bond and he stays here, if they produce babies Shannon gets a baby. I think that's a cool deal. To see Paco, check out my Mellow Yellow Monday post, just scroll down a wee bit.

Talked on the phone with Don, my dyad partner from my Spiritual Fitness class.

I wrote two new stories here on my blog. I used writing prompts from the online writing group I'm with, and fit in link ads so they made me a few dollars. Bonus. I'm really enjoying the writing.

I posted my Mellow Yellow Monday and Weekend Snapshot. This week I was able to combine the two memes into one post. Gotta love that. Did my usual blogging, watched TV, looked after all my animals, added pellets to the stove... all that good stuff. Then did Quilly's Punny Monday and this post and am very ready for bed.

- I am grateful for the Centre in my life
- I am grateful for the personal and spiritual growth I make through the Centre
- I am grateful that I am writing again. So far all fiction, and that's okay.
- I am grateful for Paco & the new budgies
- I am grateful for all my animals (12 now, with Paco)
- I am grateful for the things I learned in the workshop today (mostly about myself)
- I am grateful I so often get to be part of the Sunday Service. I love public speaking.
- I am grateful to know of my connection with the Divine
- I am grateful for all my friends
- I am grateful for family members
- I am grateful for the people that were in my life and are not any more (they played a part in my growth too)
- I am grateful for the food I eat each day
- I am grateful for the clothes I wear
and now I am grateful to be going to bed before I fall asleep at the computer and have a keyboard imprint in my face before morning. Night All.

I used to have a parrot but Betty never did like it.But the Polly wasn't the nicest bird in the world. In fact he was downright mean.
Good luck on getting the two birds to like each other.
